Kazakh President and Hungarian Prime Minister Reaffirm Strategic Ties

Budapest, May 21, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán during his working visit to Budapest, reaffirming the strong and growing strategic partnership between the two nations.

Greeting Prime Minister Orbán, President Tokayev recalled the signing of a package of strategically important agreements during his state visit to Hungary last year. He highlighted that the visit yielded fruitful and practical outcomes, significantly contributing to the deepening of mutual understanding and cooperation between Astana and Budapest.

In the context of the forthcoming informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), President Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan’s continued commitment to fostering constructive dialogue on the priority areas of the organization’s activities.

Prime Minister Orbán welcomed the Head of State and expressed appreciation for the visit, noting the sustained positive momentum in Kazakhstan-Hungary relations. He particularly underscored the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation in recent years, especially within the economic sphere, and extended gratitude for Kazakhstan’s comprehensive support in the preparation and organization of the OTS Summit.

During the meeting, the two leaders also exchanged views on key issues on the international agenda, reaffirming their shared commitment to regional stability and multilateral cooperation.
