Erdogan Calls for Unity and Brotherhood Amid Regional Challenges

Erdogan

Ankara, April 29, 2026 – The Europe Today: Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday called for unity and solidarity in the face of mounting regional challenges, urging people to rise above divisions and strengthen bonds of brotherhood.

Speaking at a parliamentary group meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party, Erdogan emphasized the importance of setting aside differences of origin, ideology, and sect during what he described as a difficult period for the region.

“Especially during this painful period our region is going through, we must embrace unity and elevate brotherhood,” the President said, stressing that the strongest response to attempts aimed at creating discord is to remain united.

Erdogan underscored that differences in political views and world perspectives should not lead to polarization, but rather be seen as a reflection of intellectual diversity and societal richness.

He further highlighted the need to promote a message of peace and solidarity not only domestically but also across borders, reaffirming Türkiye’s role in advancing this approach.

The President reiterated that Türkiye does not discriminate among regional communities, including Kurds, Arabs, Turkmens, and Persians, and remains committed to fostering inclusivity and cooperation.

Erdogan also pointed to the country’s efforts to establish a new security paradigm rooted in shared history and a common future, describing it as a constructive policy deserving recognition and support.

He warned against falling into divisive agendas aimed at destabilizing the region, stating that such actions would undermine both historical ties and future prospects. “No one can come between us and our brothers with whom we have lived on the same lands for a thousand years,” he added.

The remarks reflect Türkiye’s continued emphasis on regional unity, peaceful coexistence, and collective resilience amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.
