Rabat, August 24, 2026 – The Europe Today: Trade between Morocco and Spain reached an estimated €22.757 billion in 2025, underscoring the growing importance of bilateral economic relations between the two countries, according to data reported by Spanish news agency EFE and cited by Morocco World News.
The figures highlight Morocco’s position as one of Spain’s most important trading partners. Spain ranked first among Morocco’s trading partners for both exports and imports, reflecting the depth of economic ties between the neighbouring countries.
Bilateral trade has expanded significantly over the past decade, although the pace of growth moderated from 2018 onwards. Spanish exports to Morocco declined by 4.1 percent in 2025, mainly due to lower fuel sales.
Despite the decline in exports, economic relations remain broad and diversified, with major Spanish companies maintaining a presence in Morocco, including in sectors such as textiles. Bilateral cooperation also extends beyond trade to logistics, migration and security.
More recent data indicate that economic exchanges continued to expand in 2026. During the first half of the year, Spanish exports to Morocco increased by 3.5 percent year-on-year to €6.4205 billion, accounting for 3.2 percent of Spain’s total exports. Spanish imports from Morocco rose by 4.1 percent to €5.7955 billion, representing 2.5 percent of Spain’s total imports.
The figures underline the strategic importance of Morocco to Spain’s economy and reinforce the role of bilateral trade as a key pillar of relations between the two countries.
The continued expansion of commercial exchanges comes amid broader efforts by Madrid and Rabat to strengthen bilateral cooperation across economic, security and migration-related areas.
