Luxembourg, October 08, 2024 – The Europe Today: Investment and trade opportunities in Kazakhstan were prominently featured at a recent event hosted by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, attended by over 30 representatives from various state and commercial entities of the Grand Duchy. The participants hailed from diverse sectors, including transport, chemicals, and healthcare, as reported by the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan Margulan Baimukhan highlighted the dynamic development of trade and investment relations between Kazakhstan and Luxembourg, emphasizing the Kazakh government’s proactive support for foreign investors. He noted the economic reforms initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, which aim to enhance the investment climate in the country.
During the presentation, attendees learned about the advantages offered by the Astana International Financial Center, including specific preferences for foreign investors. The session also showcased Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics potential, detailing the operations of 13 international transport corridors that traverse the country.
Ambassador of Luxembourg to Kazakhstan Tom Reisen remarked on Kazakhstan’s role as a logistics and financial hub in Central Asia, stating that it presents significant opportunities for Luxembourg companies.
Sabrina Aksil, a representative of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, expressed the high interest among Luxembourg firms in fostering cooperation with Kazakh economic entities, particularly in the fields of information technology and financial services.
The event also featured representatives from the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce and MOST Ventures, who presented insights into Kazakhstan’s export potential and the prospects for collaboration with Kazakh IT companies. This initiative underscores the growing interest in strengthening economic ties between Kazakhstan and Luxembourg.
