Islamabad, December 15, 2024 – The Europe Today: Federal Minister for Privatization, Board of Investment, and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the importance of developing trade corridors from Pakistan for Central Asian countries and the role of access to Pakistani ports in enhancing bilateral trade. He made these remarks during a meeting with Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kastafin, in Islamabad on Saturday.
Minister Aleem Khan noted that, given the current circumstances, Pakistani products present an excellent option for Central Asian countries, which can benefit from enhanced trade links. He proposed the establishment of display centers for foreign business communities, where industrial products could be showcased and sold under one roof, thereby promoting trade.
The minister further emphasized that improving road infrastructure was essential to attracting foreign investment, which he considered a top priority for Pakistan’s economic development. He highlighted the shared history, religion, and civilization between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, asserting that these commonalities could significantly contribute to strengthening the bilateral relationship.
Ambassador Kastafin acknowledged the strong trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that further progress would be made in the near future. He also conveyed his positive experience during his visit to Pakistan, describing his meeting with the minister as welcoming and constructive for fostering stronger bilateral ties.
Both sides discussed avenues for collaboration on investment, commerce, and trade corridors, with a shared vision for visible progress in these areas in the coming months.
