Jakarta, February 8, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to visit Indonesia on February 11 and 12, 2025, where he will participate in the inaugural High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (SCC) meeting alongside Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Rolliansyah “Roy” Soemirat confirmed the visit during a media briefing on Friday, emphasizing the significance of the SCC as the highest regular bilateral forum between the two nations, led directly by their respective heads of state.
“The High-Level SCC is the highest regular bilateral forum between the two countries, led directly by the heads of state,” Soemirat stated.
The meeting will serve as a platform for discussing issues of mutual interest and advancing strategic cooperation between Indonesia and Türkiye. Diplomats and officials from both nations are currently engaged in preparatory discussions to outline priority topics for the meeting.
The establishment of the High-Level SCC was first announced at the G20 Summit in Bali in 2022, marking a significant milestone in the deepening relations between Indonesia and Türkiye. Türkiye has previously established similar high-level cooperation frameworks with 21 other countries, underscoring its commitment to strengthening international partnerships.
Erdogan’s visit is expected to further enhance diplomatic and economic ties between Indonesia and Türkiye, with discussions likely covering trade, defense, infrastructure, and other areas of strategic collaboration.
