Jakarta, August 15, 2026 — The Europe Today: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced that the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) will focus on eight National Priority Work Programs (PKPN) aimed at accelerating economic growth and improving public welfare.
Delivering the Government Statement on the Bill on the 2027 State Budget and its Financial Note at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Friday, President Prabowo said the proposed budget architecture was based on performance achievements recorded during the first half of 2026.
The President said the eight priority programmes would be supported by stronger national defense and security, effective law enforcement, good governance, accelerated digitalization and economic diplomacy.
The eight priority areas are food sovereignty; energy and water self-sufficiency; education; health; downstreaming and industrialization; infrastructure, housing and disaster resilience; strengthening the people-centered economy and village development; and poverty reduction.
President Prabowo emphasized that the 2027 budget would be designed to remain expansive, targeted and measurable, with the objective of promoting structural economic transformation and directing the economy toward higher-value-added activities.
To maximize the impact of fiscal policy, the President stressed the need for coordinated implementation among regulatory and financial institutions, including stronger integration with Danantara, Indonesia’s sovereign asset management agency.
He called for closer coordination among fiscal, monetary, financial-sector and Danantara policies to ensure greater policy effectiveness and strengthen national economic management.
The President also said policy coordination between the central and regional governments would be further strengthened, while firm and consistent anti-corruption measures would remain a key priority.
President Prabowo underscored the importance of ensuring reliable social protection programmes and continuing efforts to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
He added that support for farmers, fishermen, teachers and vulnerable workers would be strengthened as part of the government’s efforts to improve public welfare and ensure inclusive economic development.
The President reaffirmed that anti-corruption enforcement would continue to be implemented firmly and without discrimination, emphasizing the government’s commitment to good governance and accountable management of public resources.
