Putrajaya, June 7, 2025 – The Europe Today: Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, joined thousands of worshippers in observing Eid al-Adha prayers at Masjid Putra in Putrajaya, in a peaceful and spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
Following the collective recitation of takbir (praises of God), the congregation listened to the Eid sermon titled “Sacrifice and the Spirit of Togetherness”, delivered by Masjid Putra’s Chief Imam, Dr. Muhamad Zakuwa Rodzali. The sermon called on the faithful to sacrifice negative traits such as ego, greed, ignorance, and heedlessness for the greater good of religion, society, and personal growth.
Before departing, Prime Minister Anwar and his wife took time to greet and interact with congregants, exchanging Eid wishes and capturing moments of togetherness and celebration.
“May this Eid al-Adha mark a new beginning filled with love, peace, strength, and blessings for us all, Insha’Allah,” the Prime Minister expressed in his message.
The Prime Minister concluded with a heartfelt “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillahil hamd”, reinforcing the spirit of gratitude and devotion on this sacred occasion.
