Islamabad, June 18, 2025 – The Europe Today: Today, Mr. Awais Raoof, Chairman of the Board of Governors at the University of Lahore (UOL) along with Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, CEO of RK Consultants, Islamabad and Mr. Hiu David Chu, CEO of Precise Development (HK) Limited, China visited North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) and met with Prof. Liu Wei, Vice President of North China Electric Power University in Beijing, China.
The meeting was attended by key representatives from North China Electric Power University, including Zhang Yuning, Vice Dean of the School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, Peng Yuehui, Vice Director of State Key Laboratory of Alternate Electrical Power System with Renewable Energy Sources Engineering, Zhou Liping, Staff of the School of New Energy, Ms. Li Bo, Director of International Cooperation Department, Zhao Zijian, Vice Director of International Cooperation Department and Ren Chuyi, International Relations Office.
Prof. Liu Wei delivered an opening speech, extending a warm welcome to the Pakistani delegation. He emphasized the deep-rooted cultural and historical ties between China and Pakistan, highlighting the potential for strengthened cooperation in education, renewable energy, and technological innovation. Prof. Liu underscored NCEPU’s commitment to fostering international partnerships that drive sustainable development and academic excellence.
Mr. Awais Raoof, Chairman of the Board of Governors at the University of Lahore highlighted the importance of academic exchanges, joint research programs, and student mobility between Pakistani and Chinese institutions. Mr. Raoof expressed his hope that this meeting would pave the way for formal agreements, including student exchange programs, faculty collaborations, and joint research in renewable energy technologies.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram spoke on the historical and strategic connections between the two nations, particularly in the context of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and shared future initiatives. He praised NCEPU’s leadership in energy research and expressed optimism about collaborative projects that could benefit both countries.
Both universities signed agreements, with the understanding that this partnership would contribute to academic growth, technological innovation, and the shared goal of a sustainable energy future.
Following the discussions, the delegation toured the State Key Laboratory of Alternate Electrical Power System with Renewable Energy Sources, where they observed cutting-edge research facilities and ongoing projects in sustainable energy solutions. The visit provided an opportunity for the Pakistani delegates to gain insights into NCEPU’s advancements in power systems and renewable energy engineering.
