Baku, June 20, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Commission, Laziz Kudratov, on Thursday in Baku.
Welcoming the visit, President Aliyev stated that Kudratov’s presence in Azerbaijan provides an excellent opportunity to review and further strengthen the growing bilateral agenda. He praised the wide range of joint projects currently being implemented between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, emphasizing that this robust cooperation reflects the deep-rooted friendship and strategic partnership between the two nations.
Minister Kudratov conveyed the greetings of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to him and the Uzbek delegation. He noted that President Mirziyoyev is preparing for an upcoming visit to Azerbaijan and has instructed the Uzbek government to ensure the visit results in tangible and practical outcomes.
President Aliyev extended his thanks for the message and asked Minister Kudratov to convey his warm regards to President Mirziyoyev.
During the meeting, Minister Kudratov underscored the ongoing efforts to advance the strategic priorities set by both heads of state during President Aliyev’s state visit to Uzbekistan last year. Both sides acknowledged the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, particularly in the fields of economy and trade.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in industry, transport, and logistics, as well as identifying new areas for collaboration. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to further deepening their comprehensive partnership through mutually beneficial projects and initiatives.
