Astana, July 5, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan signed a presidential decree on Saturday appointing new ambassadors to several countries and international organizations, according to media reports.
Under the decree, Roman Vassilenko has been appointed as Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, Head of the Mission of Kazakhstan to the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He has been relieved of his previous duties in accordance with the new appointment.
Additionally, Yerzhan Yelekeyev has been named Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, while Arman Issetov has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
In the same decree, President Tokayev also ordered the relief of Margulan Baimukhan from his duties as Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, and as Head of the Mission of Kazakhstan to the EU and NATO. Azamat Berdybay was relieved of his role as Ambassador to Kuwait, while Arman Issetov was released from his previous position as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand.
These diplomatic reshuffles reflect Kazakhstan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its foreign service and enhance international engagement.
