Lachin, August 26, 2025 – The Europe Today: The city of Lachin on Monday hosted the International Youth Film Festival of CIS Countries and the International Youth Camp, organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the CIS, and the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan (NAYORA).
The events, dedicated to August 26 – Lachin City Day – brought together delegations from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
As part of the youth camp, participants will work within four thematic groups focused on creative industries, where they will develop and present joint project ideas. The program also includes masterclasses in pantomime acting, mobile photography, painting, and ceramics, aimed at fostering cooperation and cultural exchange among the youth of CIS countries.
Adding to the festivities, renowned Azerbaijani artists and art groups will perform in a grand concert program. Artist Yusif Mirza’s solo exhibition “After 31 Years” will also be showcased, highlighting the cultural spirit of the occasion.
During the International Youth Film Festival of CIS Countries, each participating nation will present one film with Azerbaijani subtitles, reflecting the diversity of regional cinema.
The celebrations in Lachin are further underscored by the decision of the CIS Humanitarian Cooperation Council on October 8, 2024, which declared Lachin, located in Azerbaijan’s East Zangazur region, the CIS Capital of Culture for 2025.
