Jakarta, August 28, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday inaugurated the annual exhibition of the Indonesian District Governments Association (Apkasi), highlighting commodities, investment products, and public services from districts across the country.
Arriving at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition in Tangerang, Banten, at 10 a.m. local time, the President was accompanied by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. He was welcomed by Apkasi Chairman and Lahat District Head Bursah Zarnubi.
The event, officially titled “Apkasi Otonomi Expo 2025: Trade, Tourism, Investment, and Procurement,” will run through August 30. First launched in 2005, the expo has become a national platform for showcasing regional economic potential and promoting trade and investment opportunities.
In his opening remarks, President Prabowo delivered directives to district governments and Home Affairs officials, stressing the importance of regional empowerment in driving Indonesia’s growth. He then struck a gong to mark the official opening of the expo, drawing applause from the approximately 1,500 participants.
Following the ceremony, the President, accompanied by ministers and Apkasi representatives, toured exhibition stalls featuring the products, services, and investment prospects of nearly 300 districts. He later concluded his visit and returned to the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta.
Apkasi Executive Director Sarman Simanjorang said the expo, themed “Local Products Going Global,” not only highlights regional strengths but also provides accessible public services for visitors. The Ministry of Home Affairs is once again offering population and civil registration services, including identity cards and household registration documents.
The opening ceremony was attended by several senior officials, including Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, and Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni.
Also present were National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, National Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Nutrition Agency Head Dadan Hindayana, among others.
