Diplomatic Service of Turkmenistan Awarded Medals “For Love of the Motherland”

Ashgabat, September 21, 2025 — The Europe Today: On September 20, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a solemn ceremony to present medals “For Love of the Motherland” to staff members of the national diplomatic service.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, addressing the gathering, highlighted the significance of the events taking place in Turkmenistan in the run-up to the 34th anniversary of the nation’s independence.

Particular emphasis was placed on the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council) of Turkmenistan, held the previous day in Ashgabat under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The session focused on key issues of state governance as well as the socio-economic development of the capital and regions.

During his remarks, Meredov underlined the importance of implementing Turkmenistan’s foreign policy objectives, noting that the country’s diplomatic service carries out significant responsibilities as reflected in the Priority Positions of Turkmenistan at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Minister then read the Presidential Decree awarding state honors on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of independence and formally presented the medals “For Love of the Motherland” to Ministry employees in recognition of their service and dedication.
