Pakistan and Tajikistan to Host First-Ever Collaborative Cultural Festival at Lok Virsa

Pakistan

Islamabad, December 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: Pakistan and Tajikistan are set to host their first-ever collaborative cultural festival at Lok Virsa on December 19-20, marking a historic milestone in cultural diplomacy between the two nations. The event aims to celebrate shared heritage, artistic excellence, and culinary traditions, media reports said.

The Pak-Tajik Cultural Festival 2025 is organized by the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture. The festival underscores the growing bilateral ties between Pakistan and Tajikistan through cultural exchange.

Ahead of the festival, the Ambassador of Tajikistan visited Lok Virsa to discuss preparations, highlighting productive discussions and strong cultural cooperation.

Over the two-day event, Lok Virsa will transform into a hub of cross-cultural celebration, open to visitors daily from noon until 8 PM. Attendees will experience live artisan demonstrations showcasing traditional craftsmanship from both nations, performances of music, dance, and theatre, and exhibitions of handmade artworks and handicrafts.

The festival will also feature ethnic food stalls offering authentic Pakistani and Tajik cuisine. Cultural seminars exploring the shared heritage of the two nations, along with film screenings on December 19 from 10 AM to 12 PM and a Farsi language seminar on December 20 during the same hours, are part of the program.

Renowned Tajik artists Noziya Karomatullo and Muhammadrafi Karomatullo will grace the festival. Noziya Karomatullo, a recipient of the Medal “Hizmati Shoista,” is known for hit songs such as Bazm, Ey Ishq, and Dili Man. Muhammadrafi Karomatullo, honored as a Zasluzhenny Artist of Tajikistan, is famous for songs including Be Tu Yor, Khush Omadi, Tanho Shudam, and Kabare. Their participation emphasizes the festival’s cultural significance and promises memorable performances.

Organized as a family-friendly event, the festival is designed not only for entertainment but also to strengthen bonds of friendship and mutual respect between Pakistan and Tajikistan. It demonstrates how art, music, cuisine, and tradition can serve as bridges between nations.

The Pak-Tajik Cultural Festival 2025 is expected to leave lasting impressions and pave the way for continued cultural collaboration between the two countries.
