President Erdoğan Appoints New Justice and Interior Ministers

Ankara, February 11, 2026 – The Europe Today: Recep Tayyip Erdogan has appointed new justice and interior ministers under presidential decrees published Tuesday in the Official Gazette, marking a significant reshuffle within Türkiye’s cabinet.

According to the decrees, Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akin Gurlek has been appointed as Justice Minister, replacing Yilmaz Tunc.

In a parallel appointment, Erzurum Governor Mustafa Ciftci was named Interior Minister, filling the post vacated by Ali Yerlikaya.

The presidential decrees were formally published in Türkiye’s Official Gazette, giving immediate effect to the appointments. No further official statement was issued regarding the changes.
