Banda Aceh, March 18, 2026 – The Europe Today: President Prabowo Subianto has extended meat assistance for the traditional meugang celebration to communities affected by recent disasters in Aceh ahead of Eid al-Fitr, marking the second such distribution following a similar initiative prior to Ramadan.
Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf said on Tuesday that the assistance reflects the central government’s strong commitment to supporting the people of Aceh, particularly those impacted by hydrometeorological disasters.
“This is a real form of the central government’s concern for the people of Aceh, especially as some residents are facing the impacts of disasters,” he said.
Earlier, ahead of the fasting month, the President had allocated Rp72.7 billion for meat assistance across the province. A comparable allocation has now been provided again ahead of Eid, amounting to approximately Rp72.2 billion.
The latest distribution covers multiple regions, including Rp550 million for Lhokseumawe City, Rp10.5 billion for Aceh Tamiang District, Rp4.9 billion for Pidie Jaya, and Rp7.55 billion for East Aceh.
Additional allocations include Rp2.25 billion for Bireuen District, Rp600 million for Langsa City, Rp19.55 billion for North Aceh, Rp1 billion for West Aceh, Rp2 billion for Pidie, Rp6.05 billion for Central Aceh, and Rp4.55 billion for Bener Meriah.
Further funds have been distributed to Gayo Lues District (Rp4.3 billion), Southeast Aceh (Rp2.25 billion), Southwest Aceh (Rp1 billion), Subulussalam City (Rp1 billion), Aceh Besar (Rp500 million), Nagan Raya (Rp1.45 billion), South Aceh (Rp500 million), and Simeulue District (Rp250 million).
Governor Manaf noted that the assistance carries significance beyond supporting cultural traditions, as it contributes to social recovery and brings relief and joy to communities facing difficult circumstances.
