Arkadag, September 15, 2026 – The Europe Today: National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the ongoing construction of the “Arkadagyň ruhy metjidi” mosque and an adjoining madrasa during a working visit to Arkadag City, Turkmen state media reported.
During the inspection, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reviewed the progress of construction works and emphasized the importance of using durable, practical and high-quality construction and decorative materials. He also instructed those responsible to maintain strict and continuous supervision over every stage of the project.
The National Leader was briefed on the architectural plans for the classrooms and their equipment at the madrasa being constructed alongside the mosque. The mosque is designed to accommodate up to 30,000 worshippers. Particular attention was also given to the conditions and facilities that will be provided for young people pursuing their education at the madrasa.
Deryageldi Orazov, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City under the President of Turkmenistan, briefed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on measures planned to ensure suitable conditions for students, including facilities for education, accommodation and recreation.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov called for further strengthening the madrasa’s material and technical infrastructure and recommended making use of international experience in organizing instruction in the subjects to be taught at the institution.
He also emphasized the importance of close coordination among relevant state agencies to further improve work in this field and ensure that the construction and educational facilities are developed in accordance with international standards.
