Tajik Community in Russia Marks 35th Anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence

Dushanbe, October 4, 2026 – The Europe Today: A ceremonial event dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan was held in Moscow on October 3 on the initiative of the Public Organization “Tajik Cultural Center” of the Russian Federation.

The event brought together representatives of political and business circles, scholars and cultural figures from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), India and China, members of the Public Council under the Embassy of Tajikistan in Russia, as well as Tajik students studying at Russian higher education institutions.

Chairman of the Tajik Cultural Center of Russia Rajabali Rahimov spoke about the country’s development during the period of independence under the leadership of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

He highlighted the contribution of the Leader of the Nation to state-building and the development of modern national statehood, the establishment and preservation of peace and stability throughout the country, and the strengthening of Tajikistan’s standing in the international arena.

It was emphasized that for Tajiks living in Russia and their children, the celebration represents a unique opportunity to strengthen their ties with their ancestral homeland and preserve their national identity and cultural heritage.

The cultural programme featured performances by renowned Tajik artists and a dance group of the Tajik Cultural Center of Russia, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Guests had an opportunity to become more familiar with the rich culture, traditions and artistic heritage of the Tajik people.

The Tajik Cultural Center of Russia is also planning to organize similar cultural events in other regions of the Russian Federation as part of activities commemorating Tajikistan’s 35th anniversary of independence.
