Đà Nẵng, March 30, 2024, The Europe Today: Forces from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia converged in a collaborative effort on March 29th to execute a search and rescue exercise addressing a vehicular accident-induced fire in the scenic Sơn Trà peninsula within the central city of Đà Nẵng.
The distinguished presence of Vietnamese Minister of Public Security, General Tô Lâm; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security of Laos, General Lakhamphong Vilay; and Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Abhisantibindit Sar Sokha, underscored the strategic importance of the drill.
In his address during the event, General Tô Lâm emphasized the shared commitment of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia towards safeguarding the well-being of their citizens and fostering peace, stability, and prosperity across the Indochinese region. Highlighting the collaborative efforts in fire prevention, control, and search and rescue operations, General Lâm underscored the practical cooperation among the three nations.
The exercise not only served as a platform for mutual learning and exchange of expertise but also facilitated the enhancement of tactical proficiency and combat readiness among the participating firefighting and rescue units. The hypothetical scenario simulated a multifaceted accident involving a coach, chemical, and gasoline tank trucks in a border area, prompting the mobilization of over 100 personnel equipped with state-of-the-art firefighting apparatuses.
Efficient rescue strategies, including the utilization of specialized tools for extricating trapped individuals and the deployment of automatic firefighting robots, were executed with precision, demonstrating the effectiveness of coordinated efforts.
Following the successful culmination of the exercise, participating forces seized the opportunity to glean valuable insights and refine their operational competencies, reinforcing their collective resolve to uphold national security, social order, and safety within their respective territories.
