Tashkent, December 31, 2024 – The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held a telephone conversation today to exchange warm New Year greetings. The leaders extended heartfelt congratulations to each other and the fraternal peoples of their nations on the upcoming 2025, wishing health, happiness, peace, and prosperity.
The discussion reflected a shared commitment to further deepening the bonds of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Both leaders highlighted the remarkable growth in mutual trade turnover and emphasized collaboration in vital sectors such as energy, transport, industry, agriculture, and water management. They expressed satisfaction with the increasing frequency of interdepartmental and interregional contacts, as well as the expanding cultural, humanitarian, and business exchanges between the two nations.
President Mirziyoyev commended the successful international events held this year to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, the renowned poet and thinker. The two countries’ collaboration resulted in a jointly produced feature film and several cultural events, further enhancing the historical and cultural ties between the nations.
