Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Presidents Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Initiatives

Tashkent, March 19, 2025 – The Europe Today: The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, held a telephone conversation on Monday, exchanging warm greetings on the occasion of the upcoming Navruz holiday. The two leaders conveyed their sincere wishes for health, prosperity, peace, and continued progress to the brotherly peoples of both nations.

During the discussion, President Mirziyoyev and President Japarov reviewed the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, emphasizing mutually beneficial cooperation projects in key sectors. These include trade, industrial cooperation, logistics, energy, agriculture, tourism, and other priority areas of economic collaboration.

The leaders underscored the significance of accelerating major regional projects aimed at enhancing transportation, transit, and energy infrastructure, recognizing their pivotal role in boosting connectivity and economic development across Central Asia.

In addition, both presidents addressed ongoing preparations for high-level international events, including the upcoming trilateral summit, the “Central Asia – EU” Summit, and the Climate Forum, all scheduled to take place in Samarkand. These gatherings are expected to foster dialogue on regional and global challenges while further strengthening multilateral cooperation.

The conversation reaffirmed the commitment of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to deepening their strategic partnership and advancing shared regional objectives.
