Jakarta, April 19, 2026 – The Europe Today: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Saturday urged speakers of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) from across the country to rise above differences and work collectively for national development.
Addressing 503 DPRD chairpersons during a leadership retreat organized by the National Resilience Institute at the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, the president emphasized unity as the cornerstone of Indonesia’s progress.
“We come from different backgrounds, regions, ethnicities, educational paths, professions, and political affiliations. However, as children of the nation, we remain one,” President Prabowo said in his remarks.
He noted that the session would include candid and direct discussions, adding that some of his statements might be uncomfortable for participants. “I want to speak heart-to-heart. Some of what I say may be unpleasant; some may feel offended, and some may feel saddened,” he stated.
The five-day Regional Leadership Strengthening Course (KPPD), organized by Lemhannas from April 15 to April 19, aims to enhance the capacity and role of regional legislative leaders in advancing national development goals.
