Azerbaijan’s Trade with Kazakhstan Sees Export Growth in Early 2026, Imports Decline Sharply

Baku, June 13, 2026 — The Europe Today: Azerbaijan recorded a rise in exports to Kazakhstan in the first four months of 2026, while imports from the Central Asian country declined significantly, according to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.

Between January and April 2026, Azerbaijan exported goods worth $42.31 million to Kazakhstan, marking a 21.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

In contrast, imports from Kazakhstan during the reporting period stood at $71.86 million, reflecting a notable decrease of 3.2 times compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, equivalent to a reduction of approximately $159 million.

According to official data, trade with Kazakhstan accounted for 0.36 percent of Azerbaijan’s total exports and 1.3 percent of its total imports during the reporting period.

The figures highlight evolving trade dynamics between the two countries, with export activity showing positive momentum while import volumes experienced a sharp contraction.
