Jakarta, July 24, 2026 – The Europe Today: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed that Indonesia’s unwavering support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state remains a non-negotiable cornerstone of the country’s foreign policy.
Addressing the 28th anniversary celebrations of the National Awakening Party (PKB) in Jakarta on Thursday, President Prabowo declared that while Indonesia seeks friendly relations with all nations, its commitment to the Palestinian struggle for independence will never be compromised.
“We are good with all our strengths, but what we cannot negotiate is supporting the Palestinian independence struggle,” the President stated.
Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia will continue to uphold its long-standing independent and active foreign policy, maintaining balanced and constructive relations with all global powers while avoiding alignment with any particular bloc.
He noted that, as a non-aligned nation, Indonesia respects the sovereignty of all countries, seeks peaceful cooperation, and refrains from interfering in the domestic affairs of other states.
“We are grateful that we are non-aligned, we have no enemies, we respect all countries, we respect all powers. We want to be independent and active,” he said.
The President explained that his administration’s foreign policy is guided by the principle of being a “good neighbor,” aimed at strengthening international partnerships while preserving Indonesia’s strategic independence and freedom to determine its own course.
Although Indonesia remains committed to non-interference and peaceful diplomacy, Prabowo stressed that the country stands fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any threats.
He highlighted Indonesia’s long-standing “all-people defense system,” which is based on public participation and national patriotism, as the foundation of the nation’s security strategy.
“We do not want to interfere with others. But all Indonesians will defend their sovereignty, independence and future,” President Prabowo concluded.
