Islamabad, August 7, 2026 – The Europe Today: The Embassy of the Philippines in Islamabad has welcomed Ms. Eden C. Borja as its new Property Officer and Attaché following her arrival in Pakistan on August 1, 2026.
Ms. Borja arrived in Islamabad accompanied by her spouse, Mr. Alexander G. Borja. Ambassador Emmanuel R. Fernandez, along with members of the Embassy’s One Country Team, welcomed the new official as she begins her diplomatic assignment in Pakistan.
Her arrival comes at an important time for the Philippine Embassy, particularly as the Philippines assumes the Chairship of the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI), adding significance to the Embassy’s diplomatic and regional engagements in the Pakistani capital.
A seasoned member of the Philippine Foreign Service, Ms. Borja brings extensive experience from decades of government service. Her professional career includes overseas assignments at the Philippine Embassies in Mexico and Beijing, in addition to substantial experience in administrative, consular and regional affairs at the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs.
The Embassy also acknowledged the support of Mr. Alexander G. Borja, emphasizing the important contribution of spouses and families to the work of Foreign Service personnel serving overseas. Diplomatic assignments often require significant personal and family sacrifices, with families playing an important role in supporting officials throughout their international postings.
The Philippine Embassy expressed confidence that Ms. Borja’s experience, professionalism and commitment to public service will contribute to the effective functioning of the Embassy and further strengthen its efforts to serve the Filipino community in Pakistan and advance Philippine interests.
