Jakarta, August 13, 2026 — The Europe Today: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized that the dedication and public service provided by the Indonesian Military (TNI) and National Police (Polri) are closely observed and remembered by the people.
The president made the remarks in a virtual address from Merdeka Palace during a ceremony on Thursday marking the inauguration of 3,395 bridges constructed by the TNI and Polri, along with 3,000 clean water sources built by the Indonesian Army (TNI AD). The main ceremony was held in Bayah Barat Village, Lebak, Banten.
Prabowo said every act of public service by individuals, officials and leaders was ultimately recognized by the community, stressing the importance of maintaining commitment to serving the people.
He described public service as a fundamental responsibility of the TNI and Polri and praised military personnel and police officers working across the country, including in remote and difficult-to-reach areas.
According to the president, the various initiatives undertaken by soldiers and police officers demonstrate their understanding of leadership as service to the public interest.
Prabowo said the efforts also reflected the nature of the TNI as a people’s military and the Polri as a people’s police force, emphasizing that both institutions originated from the people, struggled alongside them and remained committed to serving them.
He said the development projects also demonstrated Indonesia’s spirit of national unity and mutual cooperation, known as gotong royong.
Expressing pride in the achievements, Prabowo said the initiatives showed that Indonesia was a united nation capable of mobilizing its own resources and collective strength to improve the prosperity and welfare of its people.
The inauguration of the bridges and clean water facilities highlights the government’s continued efforts to improve basic infrastructure and public services, particularly in communities that face challenges in accessing essential facilities.
