Agadir, September 1, 2026 – The Europe Today: Morocco and Panama have explored new opportunities to strengthen cooperation in innovation, sustainability, women’s leadership and business development during the third edition of the Women Innovation & Sustainability Summit (WISS Latam), held in Panama City on August 26-27.
Morocco participated in the summit as the guest of honor, highlighting its growing engagement with Latin American countries and its efforts to promote partnerships between Africa and Latin America.
Organized by the Pacific Chamber of Commerce, WISS Latam 2026 brought together business leaders, government officials, investors, entrepreneurs and experts from more than 12 countries under the theme “Global Trends: Technology and Business.”
The summit focused on key issues shaping future economic and social development, including artificial intelligence, technological innovation, sustainability, digital transformation, gender equality and regional integration.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Panama was designated as the event’s guest of honor, with Morocco’s Ambassador to Panama, Bouchra Boudchiche, participating as one of the featured speakers.
The Moroccan delegation’s participation also included a networking reception attended by senior executives, entrepreneurs, government representatives, diplomats, regional institutions and media professionals. Moroccan cultural heritage was showcased through a traditional tea ceremony and a photographic exhibition highlighting the country’s cultural diversity.
The WISS Latam 2026 Awards also recognized Ambassador Boudchiche for her contribution. In her remarks, the Moroccan diplomat underscored the importance of platforms capable of strengthening Morocco-Panama relations and opening new avenues for cooperation between Africa and Latin America.
According to the summit organizers, the 2026 edition sought to promote technology as a driver of gender equality, competitiveness and sustainable economic growth. Its agenda was structured around four key areas: innovation and sustainability; regional integration and future partnerships; equity and inclusion in business transformation; and artificial intelligence and technology.
The summit provided a platform for Morocco and Panama, as well as other participating countries, to identify opportunities for stronger economic, technological and institutional partnerships.
