Bishkek, November 5, 2024 – The Europe Today: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the importance of solidarity among Turkic nations to advocate for a just resolution to the Palestinian issue, as the conflict in Gaza continues to escalate, resulting in the loss of over 43,374 lives. Speaking at the Sixth Meeting of the Türkiye-Kyrgyzstan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Bishkek on Tuesday, Erdogan stated, “As the Turkic world, it is extremely important that we continue our efforts for a lasting and just solution to the Palestinian issue.”
Erdogan’s remarks come amid Israel’s ongoing military actions in Gaza, which have drawn widespread international concern and condemnation. The Turkish president reiterated Türkiye’s dedication to addressing this humanitarian crisis and called for a unified response from Turkic nations.
In addition to discussing the Palestinian situation, Erdogan highlighted Türkiye’s commitment to combating terrorism, particularly in collaboration with Kyrgyzstan against the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), responsible for the 2016 failed coup in Türkiye. He affirmed, “Our fight against all forms of terrorism, especially FETO, will continue uninterruptedly.”
Upon his arrival in Kyrgyzstan on Monday, Erdogan was warmly welcomed by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in an official ceremony. The visit coincides with the 11th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States, where leaders will engage in discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation among member countries.
Erdogan’s call for unity and action underscores the critical role of regional solidarity in addressing ongoing global challenges, including humanitarian crises and security threats.
