Philippine Embassy in Islamabad Celebrates 127th Independence Day, Reaffirms Commitment to Stronger Ties with Pakistan

Islamabad, June 13, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Philippine Embassy in Islamabad hosted a formal reception on June 12, 2025, at the Mövenpick Hotel to commemorate the 127th National Day of the Republic of the Philippines, marking the country’s enduring journey of freedom and nationhood.

The event was graced by diplomats, government officials, and members of the Filipino and Pakistani communities. In his keynote address, His Excellency Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, Ambassador of the Philippines to Pakistan, reflected on the historical significance of the day and reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Pakistan.

“This celebration is not only a tribute to the valor of our forebears but also a reaffirmation of our shared aspirations for peace, development, and enduring friendship between the Philippines and Pakistan,” Ambassador Fernandez stated.

This year’s commemoration bore the theme “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.” (Freedom. Future. History.), which encapsulates the Philippines’ national journey—linking its past struggles for liberty with a vision for the future, while honoring the duty of the present generation to preserve and uphold the values of its heroes.

The celebration highlighted the deep interconnectedness of the nation’s past, present, and future, serving as both a moment of remembrance and a call to action for continued national unity and international cooperation.

The event concluded with a cultural presentation and a reception showcasing Filipino hospitality and cuisine, strengthening bonds of friendship and mutual respect between the Philippines and Pakistan.
