Tehran, July 15, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Masoud Pezeshkian has reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s firm commitment to diplomacy and peaceful engagement, stating that his administration will utilize all political and diplomatic resources to safeguard the nation’s interests and prevent conflict.
In a message addressed to Iranians living abroad on Monday, President Pezeshkian emphasized that the window of diplomacy remains open, and that Iran’s foreign policy will continue to focus on constructive dialogue while firmly opposing war and aggression.
“We advocate for diplomacy and constructive engagement while opposing war,” he said. “To keep the shadow of war away from our country and to defend the natural rights of the Iranian nation, we will utilize all available political and diplomatic resources.”
Referring to the 12-day war imposed by the Israeli regime, which began on June 13, Pezeshkian described the period as one of extraordinary national unity, despite the heavy psychological and physical toll it placed on the nation.
“Despite the psychological pressures and numerous challenges faced by our nation, we witnessed one of the rarest displays of public participation, consensus, and social cohesion in Iran’s contemporary history,” he noted. “Iranians, both inside and outside the country, including critics and supporters, stood united against the aggressor like a single fist.”
The President stressed that this unity must now be channeled into building a stronger, more secure, and prosperous Iran. “A new chapter has begun that fosters hope and aims toward a more stable and powerful Iran,” he said. “This path can only be achieved through the solidarity of our people, national unity, and the innovative energy of our youth.”
Highlighting the need to learn from the past, Pezeshkian called for critical reflection and collective action to shape a better future. “Our national security is ensured through both military strength and citizen unity,” he said. “It is time to look toward new horizons and take confident steps with the support of our nation’s vast social capital.”
He reaffirmed that Iran’s foreign policy is rooted in a desire for global peace and justice, declaring, “We have never sought war; our aim has always been to play an effective role in promoting global sustainable peace. Iran, rooted in its historical, cultural, and religious foundations, seeks justice and human dignity for all nations.”
While condemning Israeli aggression, which killed several Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists and targeted strategic sites across the country, Pezeshkian warned that any future assault would be met with a firm and crushing response.
“Iran’s Armed Forces are at their highest level of defense readiness,” he said. “Our enemies must understand that while we are a peace-seeking nation, we will never surrender to aggression.”
Following the deadly conflict, Iran responded with powerful retaliatory strikes on Israeli-occupied territories. A ceasefire was officially declared on June 24, bringing an end to the most intense hostilities in years.
President Pezeshkian’s remarks underscore Iran’s intention to pursue a peaceful yet firm strategic posture, rooted in diplomacy, unity, and national resilience.
