Islamabad, October 30, 2025 – The Europe Today: Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Director General of the National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) and co-chair of the Round Table Conference on the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality in the Year of Peace and Trust 2025, Islamabad on 28th October, 2025 praised the scholarly discussions at the event, emphasizing the enduring connections between Persian literature and Turkmen cultural heritage.
“Dr. Mazhar extended his heartfelt congratulations to H.E. Atadjan, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, on the dual celebration of 2025, marking 30 years of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust.”
In a notable contribution, Dr. Mazhar translated the celebrated poem of Faiz Ahmed Faiz, “An Evening of Ashgabat”, from Urdu into Persian. The poem had earlier been recited by Mr. Raja Abdul Qayyum at the conclusion of his keynote address, adding a cultural and literary dimension to the conference proceedings.
