Baku, December 1, 2025 – The Europe Today: An international conference titled “Launch of the AI Index for the Islamic World”, co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Science and Education in partnership with ICESCO, will take place at the Heydar Aliyev Center on December 8–9.
The high-level event will be attended by ICESCO Director General Dr. Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik and Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Supreme Chairman of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation.
For the first time, the conference will present the document “AI Index for the Islamic World”, a comprehensive analytical tool developed to scientifically assess the development trends of artificial intelligence across ICESCO member states.
Organizers stated that the gathering aims to deepen cooperation on artificial intelligence within the Islamic world and explore the ethical, social, and economic implications of emerging AI technologies.
Approximately 150 participants—including education ministers from 10 ICESCO member countries, international experts, and government representatives—are expected to attend.
The conference will also include thematic sessions on the role of AI in modern education systems. A concluding declaration titled “Developing the Artificial Intelligence Index among ICESCO Member Countries” will be adopted at the end of the event.
