Baku, December 4, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Ministries of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have signed a Joint Action Plan for 2026–2027, aimed at deepening cooperation and enhancing joint capabilities in emergency management and response.
The document was signed by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General Botir Kudratkhodjaev. The signing ceremony took place during a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the 26th International Conference of Heads of Firefighting and Rescue Services of member countries of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers in Baku.
Minister Heydarov highlighted that the historical and deeply rooted ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have evolved into a strategic partnership and alliance, strengthened by the mutual trust and forward-looking policies of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He noted that cooperation between the two emergency ministries has been rapidly advancing and stated that the new joint action plan would further expand expertise sharing and elevate bilateral relations to a new qualitative level.
Major General Kudratkhodjaev expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for the excellent organization of the conference and praised the strong partnership between the two countries’ emergency ministries. He emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation to improve the safety and security of both nations’ populations and territories.
The meeting also included discussions on other matters of mutual interest, reaffirming the commitment of both sides to further strengthening collaboration in emergency response, risk management and resilience-building.
