Baku, February 15, 2026 – The Europe Today: Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Johann David Wadephul on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Germany, along with key regional security issues.
Both sides underscored the importance of maintaining high-level political dialogue, noting that reciprocal visits and engagements on international platforms contribute significantly to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
The ministers emphasized the need to expand collaboration in the fields of economy, trade, energy security, agriculture, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian areas.
Particular attention was given to the strategic energy and transport projects initiated and implemented with Azerbaijan’s participation, highlighting their contribution to Europe’s energy security and sustainable regional development. The discussions also covered prospects for cooperation in renewable energy, joint initiatives within the framework of the “green transition,” and coordinated efforts in broader regional contexts, including Central Asia.
Touching upon multilateral engagement, both sides welcomed continued cooperation within international organizations, grounded in mutual respect for each other’s legitimate interests and trust.
Minister Bayramov briefed his German counterpart on the post-conflict situation in the region, the Armenia–Azerbaijan normalization process, and Azerbaijan’s steps toward ensuring de facto peace and fostering regional cooperation following the historic Washington Summit.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on other bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest.
