Turkmenistan, Georgia Review Expanding Bilateral Ties and Regional Cooperation

Tbilisi, March 30, 2026 – The Europe Today: Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Nokerguly Atagulyyev, met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday in Tbilisi to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation across key sectors, according to local media reports.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the current state of ties and explored prospects for further collaboration. The Georgian side emphasized that relations between Georgia and Turkmenistan have reached a qualitatively new level, underscored by regular high-level exchanges that have helped deepen intergovernmental engagement.

Trade and economic cooperation featured prominently in the discussions, with both leaders highlighting opportunities to expand partnerships in agriculture and tourism. They expressed confidence that closer collaboration in these sectors would contribute to mutual economic growth and diversification.

Regional developments were also addressed during the talks. The Georgian leadership highly appreciated Turkmenistan’s continued efforts to promote peace and stability in Central Asia, noting that its policy of neutrality and constructive engagement serves as a key pillar for sustainable development across the region.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthening bilateral ties and advancing cooperation on regional and international issues of common interest.
