Baku, April 13, 2026 — The Europe Today: Azerbaijan’s Baku State University (BSU) and Türkiye’s Necmettin Erbakan University have formalized their academic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in higher education and research.
The agreement was signed by BSU Rector Elchin Babayev and Necmettin Erbakan University Rector Cem Zorlu. The MoU outlines plans to implement joint research projects, organize international scientific workshops and conferences, and promote academic exchange programs between the two institutions.
During the meeting, Rector Elchin Babayev provided an overview of BSU’s academic and scientific activities, highlighting its growing international partnerships. He emphasized ongoing and prospective collaboration with the Turkish university at both doctoral and master’s levels, particularly in fields such as international relations, psychology, and mathematics.
Rector Cem Zorlu expressed confidence that the partnership would yield tangible outcomes, noting that strengthened institutional ties would not only benefit both universities but also contribute to the broader development of scientific and academic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
