Jakarta, July 3, 2026 – The Europe Today: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko on Thursday launched the Roadmap for Strengthening Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation 2026–2030, setting out a comprehensive framework to deepen bilateral relations over the next five years.
Speaking in a joint statement at the Merdeka Palace, President Prabowo said the roadmap reflects the shared commitment of both countries to building more focused, practical and mutually beneficial cooperation across a range of strategic sectors.
“Today, the two countries have launched the Roadmap for Strengthening Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation 2026–2030, which will serve as a framework for developing bilateral relations over the next five years,” Prabowo said.
The roadmap outlines plans to strengthen collaboration in key areas including the economy, agriculture, food security, culture, and science and technology.
Highlighting the importance of food security, President Prabowo said Indonesia and Belarus would enhance cooperation by leveraging their complementary strengths. Planned initiatives include the development of modern agriculture, the supply of fertilizers, agricultural machinery and technology, as well as cooperation in heavy equipment.
In the economic sphere, both countries agreed to expand their partnership in support of their respective national development priorities. Future collaboration will focus on industrial development, agricultural modernization, strengthening supply chains, and advancing technological innovation.
President Prabowo also welcomed Belarus’ completion of the ratification process for the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (I-EAEU FTA), noting that Indonesia is also working to finalize its own ratification as part of efforts to deepen trade relations with the Eurasian region.
He further highlighted significant opportunities to boost bilateral investment and establish joint ventures between businesses in both countries, particularly in the manufacturing, automotive, heavy vehicle and agro-industry sectors.
In the areas of socio-cultural cooperation and human resource development, President Prabowo called for stronger collaboration through cultural exchanges, partnerships between educational institutions, and the expansion of vocational education and training programmes aimed at enhancing workforce skills in both Indonesia and Belarus.
The launch of the roadmap marks a significant step in advancing the strategic partnership between Indonesia and Belarus, providing a structured framework for expanding cooperation and delivering tangible benefits to both nations over the 2026–2030 period.
