Dushanbe, July 18, 2026 – The Europe Today: President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on July 17 met with candidates nominated for senior leadership positions in key government institutions, including the banking, education, science, transport, energy, customs, and pension sectors, reaffirming the country’s commitment to strengthening public administration through merit-based appointments and digital transformation.
During the meeting, President Rahmon reviewed the proposed appointments and approved the appointment of a number of young, highly qualified professionals with expertise in foreign languages and modern information and production technologies to deputy leadership positions in the relevant ministries and agencies. The appointments are aimed at advancing the digitalization of public administration, production processes, and the adoption of modern digital technologies.
Personnel changes were also introduced at several general secondary schools and higher education institutions under the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan, with young academics and education professionals possessing outstanding scientific and teaching achievements appointed to senior leadership positions.
During his discussions, President Rahmon conducted a detailed assessment of the current state of education within institutions under the Ministry of Education and Science, highlighting both achievements and existing challenges. He instructed officials to prioritize improving the quality of education, strengthening the training of young specialists, and addressing shortages of qualified teachers and professionals capable of meeting the country’s evolving development needs.
The President issued specific directives aimed at enhancing educational standards, improving the effectiveness of educational institutions, and ensuring that the education system is better aligned with contemporary national priorities.
Concluding the meeting, President Rahmon urged the newly appointed officials to serve the nation and the people of Tajikistan with integrity, dedication, and professionalism, emphasizing the importance of carrying out their responsibilities faithfully and in the best interests of the country.
