President Prabowo Leads Pancasila Sanctity Day Ceremony in Jakarta

Jakarta, October 1, 2026 – The Europe Today: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto led the 2026 Pancasila Sanctity Day commemoration ceremony at the Pancasila Sakti Monument in Jakarta on Thursday.

President Prabowo arrived at the monument at 7:57 a.m. local time to serve as the ceremony inspector. He was accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Culture Minister Fadli Zon.

Commemorative activities began earlier in the morning, including a performance by a student choir ahead of the main ceremony.

During the ceremony, President Prabowo led a moment of silence to honor the Heroes of the Revolution who died in connection with the events commemorated on Pancasila Sanctity Day.

Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) Speaker Sultan B. Najamudin was scheduled to recite the Pancasila, while People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) Speaker Ahmad Muzani was to read the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution.

House of Representatives (DPR RI) Speaker Puan Maharani was scheduled to deliver the Pancasila Sanctity Day Pledge.

Following the ceremony, President Prabowo was scheduled to inspect the Pancasila Sakti Monument and inaugurate the Pancasila Sanctity Museum, which has been revitalized by the Ministry of Culture.

The 2026 Pancasila Sanctity Day commemoration carries the theme, “Pancasila, Uniting the Nation Towards a Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.”

Ministers from the Red and White Cabinet, heads of state institutions and representatives of friendly countries also attended the ceremony.

Indonesia observes Pancasila Sanctity Day annually on October 1 in connection with the events of September 30, 1965, and to commemorate the Heroes of the Revolution who lost their lives during the incident.
