Beijing, November 8, 2024 – The Europe Today: Chinese President Xi Jinping will embark on an official trip to Latin America from November 13 to 21, marking a significant diplomatic engagement with the region. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying announced on Friday that President Xi will first travel to Lima, Peru, from November 13 to 17. In Lima, he will participate in the 31st APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and conduct a state visit at the invitation of Peruvian President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra.
Following his time in Peru, President Xi will proceed to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from November 17 to 21, where he will attend the 19th G20 Summit. He is also scheduled for a state visit to Brazil, at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
This diplomatic tour underscores China’s commitment to fostering relations with Latin American economies and supporting multilateral cooperation on global economic issues, aligning with the strategic interests shared by APEC and G20 member countries.
