Islamabad, November 24, 2024 – The Europe Today: A high-level delegation from Belarus, led by Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzinkov, arrived in Islamabad on Sunday in advance of President Alexander Lukashenko’s official visit to Pakistan.
The delegation, comprising eight ministers and 43 business leaders, was warmly received at Benazir Bhutto International Airport by Pakistan’s Minister of Interior, Mohsin Naqvi; Belarusian Ambassador to Pakistan, Sajjad Haider Khan; and Additional Secretary for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan.
This visit signals the start of a significant diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Belarus. The delegation will participate in key meetings aimed at bolstering cooperation across diverse sectors, including trade and defence. Several high-profile agreements are expected to be signed during the visit, reinforcing the strategic partnership between the two nations.
President Lukashenko is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Monday. His agenda includes discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Chief of Army Staff, with a focus on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding economic collaboration.
The upcoming agreements are anticipated to enhance trade, business, and defence cooperation, reflecting both nations’ commitment to fostering a robust partnership. This visit underscores the growing importance of Belarus-Pakistan relations in promoting mutual prosperity and strategic alignment.
