Uzbekistan Celebrates 32nd Anniversary of Constitution with Festive Ceremony

Tashkent, December 7, 2024 – The Europe Today: A ceremonial event marking the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the Palace of International Forums “Uzbekistan.” The event brought together key officials from the Presidential Administration, members of the Senate, deputies of the Legislative Chamber, representatives from ministries, agencies, the public, and media outlets.

Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov opened the ceremony by reading a congratulatory message from the President of Uzbekistan to the nation. In his address, the President highlighted the profound significance of this year’s celebration, which is taking place amid historical transformations across the political, legal, socio-economic, and spiritual spheres of Uzbek society.

The President announced that 46.5 trillion UZS would be allocated to support socially vulnerable populations, a measure expected to lift 1 million people out of poverty. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to protecting the constitutional rights of its citizens and ensuring their well-being.

Additionally, 2025 was declared the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy, reflecting Uzbekistan’s renewed constitutional emphasis on ecological rights and state responsibility in safeguarding the environment and maintaining ecological balance.

The festive event also featured songs and musical performances celebrating the Motherland, independence, citizens’ rights and responsibilities, and the importance of protecting nature. These artistic displays embodied the country’s dedication to the principles enshrined in its Constitution and aspirations for a prosperous, sustainable future.
