King Faisal Prize 2025 Winners to Be Announced in Riyadh on January 8

Riyadh, January 7, 2025 – The Europe Today: The recipients of the prestigious King Faisal Prize (KFP) for 2025 will be revealed on January 8 during a ceremony at the Prince Sultan Grand Hall in the Al-Faisaliah Center, Riyadh, according to the General Secretariat of the King Faisal Prize.

Specialized selection committees have convened at the prize headquarters since Monday to deliberate on the winners in the categories of Islamic studies, Arabic language and literature, medicine, and science. These deliberations will continue until the official announcement on January 8 at 8:00 p.m.

The themes for the 2025 prize were previously announced:

  • Islamic Studies: Studies of Archaeology in the Arabian Peninsula
  • Arabic Language and Literature: Studies of Identity in Arabic Literature
  • Medicine: Cellular Therapy
  • Science: Physics

Nominations for the prize were submitted by universities, research centers, and scientific institutions worldwide, adhering to stringent criteria. Nominees must be living individuals whose published works have had a significant intellectual impact and contributed to humanity’s progress. Nominations from individuals or political groups are not considered, ensuring impartiality in the process.

This year’s selection committees comprise distinguished scholars, experts, and specialists from 16 countries. The evaluation process is conducted with the highest standards of integrity and transparency.

Established by the King Faisal Foundation in 1977 and first awarded in 1979, the King Faisal Prize is one of the most respected global accolades, recognizing exceptional contributions to humanity across its designated fields.
