Tehran, April 20, 2025 — The Europe Today: Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Daler Juma, has described the Islamic Republic of Iran as one of Tajikistan’s most important strategic partners in the region, emphasizing the deepening ties between the two nations.
Juma made the remarks during a meeting with Ali Najafi Khoshrudi, Deputy for International and Regional Cooperation in the Office of the Vice President of Iran, held on Saturday in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
Highlighting the positive trajectory in bilateral economic relations, the Tajik minister noted that trade volume between the two countries reached $110.6 million in the first quarter of 2025. This figure marks an increase of $33.2 million compared to the same period last year, reflecting significant growth in economic cooperation.
Juma also pointed to the upcoming official meetings scheduled to take place in Tehran, expressing confidence that the dialogue will further advance collaboration in key sectors such as energy, economy, and cultural exchange.
For his part, Najafi Khoshrudi stressed the importance of facilitating both bilateral and multilateral cooperation. He underlined Iran’s commitment to strengthening regional stability and connectivity, referencing the “Khujand Declaration” as a pivotal step toward fostering enduring friendship among Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. He described the declaration as a cornerstone for peace and collaboration in Central Asia.
Both parties agreed on the necessity of enhancing cooperation across various domains, including science, culture, and education, as part of a broader strategy to promote sustainable development and mutual understanding between their nations.
