Sweden’s Felicia Disappointed After Eurovision 2026 Result but Looks Ahead to New Music

Vienna, May 17, 2026 – The Europe Today: Swedish Eurovision contestant Felicia expressed disappointment after finishing 20th at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with her song “My System,” marking Sweden’s poorest Eurovision result in 16 years.

Speaking after the final in Vienna, Felicia admitted the outcome was difficult to accept despite giving her best performance on stage.

“It’s not fun to come in twentieth place, I can tell you that,” she said.

Ahead of the final, Felicia’s performance had received positive reactions and climbed in the betting odds, with many predicting Sweden could secure a top-10 finish. However, the results proved disappointing as the song received low scores from jury panels and only limited support from televoters.

Sweden finished the contest with 51 points, its weakest Eurovision performance since Anna Bergendahl failed to qualify from the semi-finals in 2010.

Despite the setback, Felicia insisted she had no regrets about her performance.

“No, I did my best and I can’t do more than that. Of course I wanted the performance to be even better, but it was simply impossible,” she said.

The singer described her Eurovision experience as both exhausting and unforgettable, saying the intense schedule in Vienna felt overwhelming at times.

“It feels like I’ve been in Vienna for three months and it feels like we arrived yesterday. But you only get to do an experience like this once in a lifetime, so it’s been great fun,” she added.

Felicia also revealed she faced several challenges during the competition, including rhinestones falling from her glasses during the semi-final and obstructing her vision, vocal problems that forced her to temporarily stop speaking, and fainting after a rehearsal on Friday.

Despite the disappointing result, the singer said she remains optimistic about the future and plans to focus on new music and touring.

“I’m going to do a summer tour, release music, and get out of this bubble I’ve been in,” she said.

In a lighter moment, Felicia joked that her only regret from Vienna was “eating one or two schnitzels too much.”

Sweden has enjoyed strong Eurovision success in recent years, including victories by Loreen with “Tattoo” in 2023 and several top-five finishes by Swedish artists over the past decade.
