President Zardari Urges Enhanced Economic and Business Ties Between Pakistan and Turkmenistan

Islamabad, October 16, 2024 – The Europe Today: President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized the need for enhanced economic cooperation and stronger business-to-business ties between Pakistan and Turkmenistan for the mutual benefit of both nations. The President made these remarks during a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, in Islamabad.

President Zardari highlighted the importance of increasing collaboration between the stock exchanges of Pakistan and Turkmenistan as a means to boost economic cooperation. He also underscored Pakistan’s strong commitment to fostering closer economic relations with Turkmenistan, noting that the bond between the two countries is rooted in shared values, religion, and cultural heritage.

The President reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to the timely completion of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) Gas Pipeline project, describing it as a critical initiative that would significantly contribute to the economic development of both countries.

He expressed optimism that the successful completion of the TAPI project would further enhance bilateral ties and create new avenues for cooperation in the energy sector.
