President of Uzbekistan Receives Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States

Tashkent, February 19, 2025 – The Europe Today: Upon his return from an official visit to Kuwait, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), prominent political figure and former Prime Minister of Türkiye Binali Yıldırım. The distinguished guest arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in international urban planning events.

During the meeting, Binali Yıldırım conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to the President of Uzbekistan.

Discussions centered on the further expansion of multifaceted cooperation within the OTS, with particular attention given to the increasing role and active participation of the Council of Elders in coordinating and promoting multilateral interaction.

Both parties underscored the importance of strengthening practical partnerships and enhancing contacts to effectively implement the programs and initiatives adopted at OTS summits. Additionally, preparations for upcoming events within the framework of the Organization were reviewed.

It is noteworthy that the Council of Elders serves as a permanent advisory body within the OTS, playing a key role in fostering collaboration among member states.

The Congress of the Turkic World on Urban Planning, in which Binali Yıldırım is participating, is organized by the Union of Engineers and Architects. Established in 2002 in Ankara, the Union actively engages with urban development projects across the Turkic world. The hokimiyats of Samarkand and Navoi are among the key participants in the Union’s initiatives, contributing to the exchange of expertise and best practices in urban planning.
