President Ilham Aliyev Allocates Funds for Restoration of Momina Khatun Tomb in Nakhchivan

Baku, May 22, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has issued an official Order to allocate funds for the restoration and conservation of the Momina Khatun Tomb, a prominent historical and architectural monument of global significance located in the city of Nakhchivan.

According to the presidential Order, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will receive an initial allocation of 1 million Azerbaijani manat from the reserve fund of the President of Azerbaijan. The funding is designated to support comprehensive restoration and conservation efforts aimed at preserving the tomb’s distinctive historical appearance and ensuring its transmission to future generations.

The Momina Khatun Tomb, a masterpiece of medieval Azerbaijani architecture dating back to the 12th century, stands as a symbol of the region’s rich cultural heritage. The initiative reflects the Azerbaijani government’s continued commitment to the protection and promotion of national historical monuments and cultural landmarks.

The restoration project will be overseen in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure that the monument’s architectural integrity and historical value are meticulously preserved.
