Ankara, June 8, 2025 — The Europe Today: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Sunday to discuss regional and international developments, according to sources from the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
During the call, the two officials exchanged views on efforts to bring an end to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the latest developments in the Gaza Strip. Both parties underlined the importance of coordinated diplomatic initiatives aimed at fostering stability and peace in these regions.
The conversation also included a review of preparations for the upcoming NATO summit, scheduled to take place on June 24–25 in The Hague, Netherlands. The summit is expected to address key security challenges and strategic priorities for the Alliance.
The call reflects Türkiye’s continued engagement with NATO leadership and its commitment to playing an active role in addressing pressing global issues.
